Senior Citizen Discount Our Senior Citizen discount is offered on weekdays. Seniors age 60 + get 10% off the nightly rate Sunday - Thursday. There is a 20% discount off our nightly rate for a 2-night or longer weekday stay. (Holidays excluded). Just ask for the Senior Discount when making your reservation. The discounted rate will be shown on your reservation confirmation if you book online. Please show proof of age upon arrival.
We truly appreciate what our military does each and every day to protect our freedoms and are deeply indebted to them. Because of that, we extend a 25% discount off our regular room rates to all United States military men and women. Simply tell us you are military personnel when making a reservation and bring your military ID for check in to receive the discount. We are unable to honor the military discount if your military ID is not presented at check in (but we know you always have it with you!). The military discount cannot be applied towards packages or gift certificate purchases.
Ball State University and Taylor University Parents stay 6 nights with us and the 7th night is free. You must tell us you have a student at Ball State or Taylor when making your first reservation. Stay at McDowell-Nearing House when you bring your son or daughter to college in August and call us your home away from home for the next 4 years. Come back for important events or just come visit cause you miss them! The 7th night is on us! Yes, graduate and professional student parents qualify for this program too! You may use your free night weekdays, most weekends, and some holidays, but you cannot use it for graduation weekend. We would like you to make McDowell-Nearing House your home away from home when visiting your college student.
We welcome the single traveler. The bed and breakfast experience can provide an extra measure of safety and convenience. Enjoy a personal pipeless whirlpool tub and a comfortable queen bed in the Orchard Lawn room for a discounted rate of $120 per night.
We have gone the extra mile to provide business guests many of the services and amenities they seek including high-speed wireless Internet, well-lit desk space, and availability of printer and fax services. We subscribe to the Wall Street Journal and the Muncie StarPress as well as the online version of the New York Times. You may find it helpful to use our dining room table to spread out your work, or the dining room for a small business meeting (after our breakfast hours). Breakfast times are flexible to meet your needs. If you need an early start, we will include a brown bag breakfast with yogurt, fruit, juice, and a muffin. After a hard day of business, we offer the relaxation and tranquility of a home-like atmosphere. Please call for corporate rates and experience this great B&B when traveling to Muncie.
